New External Funding

Adelphi University is committed to providing and ensuring an academic environment that supports and facilitates teaching, creativity and scholarly research.  In order to clarify the relationship, rights, and responsibilities of the university and faculty regarding patents and copyright, a small group of faculty drafted an Intellectual Property Policy in late 2004.  In June 2005, the university’s trustees approved the IP Policy, and in fall 2006, in keeping with that policy, the IP committee was formed.

The members of the IP committee are: Dr. Sean Bentley, Assistant Professor, Physics; Dr. John Dooher, Professor, Physics; and Dr. Joseph Landesberg, Professor, Chemistry.  The main charges of the IP committee are to establish a procedure for the disclosure of Intellectual Property, determine ownership in accord with this policy, and execute all documents necessary for the filing of a patent or trademark.
