Campus Transportation Transportation & Construction Updates

Spring Semester Construction Advisory

Construction is continuing on the new buildings, which are scheduled to open in the spring semester. Some important updates for the spring:

  • As of January 23, 2008, there will be several changes to the temporary gravel lot on the southern end of campus:
    • The entrance and exit location for the lot will change.
    • The amount of parking in the temporary lot will be decreased. Because of fewer students, this will have minimal impact on parking, but may still impact you.
  • You can still drive from one end of the campus to the other without leaving campus. Please note that these
    roadways are for cars only and not pedestrians. Pay attention to all signage posted that directs pedestrians.

Parking Incentive Program
There will be no parking at the Garden City Pool during Spring Break, Monday, March 10, 2008 through Thursday March 13, 2008. The Parking Incentive Program will resume on Monday, March 17, 2008.
  • When classes are in session, the Garden City Pool Parking Incentive Program will be available for all University students, faculty, and staff.

  • When classes are in session, you can receive $5 a day for parking at the Pool, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 1:00 AM

  • If you park at the Garden City Pool for 75% of the available days, you will receive an additional $50 at the end of the semester.

Please note: Only valid University-registered vehicles with a decal are eligible for the Parking Incentive Program.

Tennis Team
The tennis courts are now inaccessible and tennis team practices have been relocated.


Department of Performing Arts
Olmsted Theatre will be closed during construction. Main Stage and Blackbox productions will be held at Herricks Community Theater in New Hyde Park.
