Adelphi Partners with MessageOne for
Emergency Notifications
As part of a strategy to broaden our emergency notification and crisis communication channels, Adelphi has partnered with MessageOne, enabling the University to instantly broadcast urgent messages and deliver instructions to the campus community when necessary.
With MessageOne's AlertFind service, Adelphi can send notifications to students, faculty, and staff using their preferred communications channels, including text or voice messages to a cell phone, home phone, and/or email. Users can also revise their emergency contact information when needed via Adelphi's eCampus Web portal.

About MessageOne AlertFind:
With more than one million users, AlertFind is a powerful crisis management and communication solution used by organizations around the globe. MessageOne's AlertFind has kept more than 1,000 companies, communities, and universities operating and enabled them to ensure the safety of their employees during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the 2005 bombings of London's transit system, the 2004 tsunami, and the 2003 Northeast power outage. With the implementation of AlertFind, Adelphi is one of the first universities in New York to deploy a comprehensive emergency notification system. Why is the University launching this system?
As part of an effort to broaden its notification and crisis communication channels, Adelphi University recently partnered with MessageOne to send out alerts and communications during an emergency. This service, known as AlertFind®, will enable the University to send notifications to students and staff via their preferred communications channels, including text or voice messages to a cell phone, home phone, and/or email.
What will the system be used for?
Adelphi will use the AlertFind® emergency notification system to instantly broadcast urgent messages and deliver instructions to the campus community.
AlertFind® is an automated notification service that uses all available methods of communication to deliver important messages to our thousands of employees and students, in real time. By leveraging email, voice calls, voice mail, text messages, faxes, pagers, and other devices we hope to improve the awareness of urgent University communications and increase our personal safety.
For example, we will use the system to broadcast messages about school closings due to inclement weather. This can be particularly helpful if the closing occurs in the morning and you have yet to begin your commute. There are also on campus emergencies that may require immediate notification such as a gas leak or fire. We hope not to be faced with such situations, but the alert system will allow us to quickly inform the campus community and confirm the safety of our students, faculty, and staff.
We will not use this system for routine campus announcements. We will continue to use campus email and eCampus for that type of information.
What will be done with my personal information?
The University will only use the AlertFind® system to amplify its emergency communications system. The information is safeguarded and is not shared with any other party.
