All full-time non-union and full-time Local 153 employees:
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Available to the first 200 employees to respond on a first-come, first-served basis. The University has entered into an agreement with Nassau County to utilize one of their parking fields, located at the corner of 11th Street and County Seat Drive in Mineola, New York, known as Nassau County Parking Lot No. 14. Just like parking at the Garden City Pool, we will provide University shuttle transportation to and from campus and the parking field. Please be advised that the parking program at the Garden City Pool will be suspended for employees during this time.
The parking program will operate Monday–Thursday from 7:00 a.m.– 7:00 p.m. while classes are in regular session for the fall and spring semester (i.e., not in effect during spring break, finals week, summer or intersession). The Adelphi shuttle buses will operate approximately every 15 minutes.
To thank our employees who help us meet our goal of 200 vehicles, Adelphi has agreed to grant five additional paid parking incentive days to the first 200 full-time, non-union and full-time Local 153 employees who routinely work normal business hours and who agree not to park their University-registered private vehicles on the Garden City campus from 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on Monday–Thursday. Participants must park at the alternative location for the 2013–2014 academic year. In addition, participants will also receive a complimentary Friend of the Chamber Benefit Card that will provide discounts to local restaurants and merchants in Garden City.
Terms of the offer: Any employee who agrees to participate in this Parking Incentive Program must have his/her car registered with the Office of Public Safety and Transportation as of the date of this memo and must routinely park on the Garden City campus during the semester, Monday through Thursday during normal business hours. Employees who volunteer to participate in the incentive program will receive a new parking decal. Vehicles parked on campus with a P.I.P. decal between 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. are subject to a $50 fine and the participant will forfeit days earned and be removed from the program. You will earn 2.5 parking incentive days per semester at the conclusion of each semester. If you choose to withdraw from the program during the semester, you forfeit your earned days and are not eligible for any parking incentive days.
Parking incentive days must be used by the end of the 2013–2014 academic year, and any unused time is not eligible to be paid in lieu of taking time off. As with all time off, advance notice and supervisor approval is required.
If you have any questions, please contact Joe Goodrich, manager of transportation and parking services, in the Office of Public Safety by phone at 516.877.3503 or by email at goodrich@adelphi.edu.
